Until GEnie raised their prices too high, I could surf with impunity and had access to gigs of files for my Atari. With BBS's dying out, and graphical browsers hard to come by, is the Atari dead as far as the net is concerned? Hardly! Using the text based browser Lynx (UNIX fans rejoice), I could sail the heady heights of the net, and with GEMview look at the graphics afterwards. Which, come to think of it, is what I do with my PowerMac anyway: surf with images off, and then load only the ones I want to see.
Maybe Atari had the magic "$500 Net Box" that everyone is narfing about before we knew any better....
